🔗 How to Create a Link Zap
There are two core parts to creating a link zap that we'll be going over:
- Send your link to Zapier via Post
- Creating an Automation and publishing via Zapier
- Creating a Zap
PART 1a - How to Send Your Post Link to Zapier?
- In the post section of elink, locate the post you want to send via Zapier. Click on the 'Share' icon next to it.
- A popup will open and click on the 'Zapier' icon. This will send your post over to your Zapier account.
PART 1b - How to Send Your Automation Post as a Link to Zapier?
- Open up elink and click on the 'Automation' tab.
- Click on the 'Create Automation' button.
- A pop-up will appear, allowing you to name your automation and set the scheduling frequency. You can choose between daily, weekly, or monthly for each automation and set-up a corresponding time you want the process to start running at.
- Next, you will need to determine whether you want to update an existing elink post on a regular basis or generate a brand new elink post on a regular basis.
- After that, you need to define your sources. Choose from an RSS Feed, RSS Feed folder, or a bookmark folder. Define your keywords so that the right articles are published. Also, you can choose between 'Best results' and 'Most recent' results. Best results place a priority on keywords first, and then the time the article was published. Most Recent will place a priority on when an article was published and then the keywords. Lastly, choose how many maximum articles you want to be published regularly.
- On the last step, choose what you want to happen when the post is created. On this step, you'll want to select 'Publish and send to Zapier as a link.'
Part 2 - Create a Link Zap
Setup Your Trigger
- Open up Zapier and click on 'Create Zap.'
- You'll need to choose a trigger and search for the app 'elink'.
- Next, you'll need to choose your trigger event - 'Share Post as a Link.'
- Then click 'Continue'.
- On the next step, you'll need to choose your elink account.
- Next, you'll need to find your data. Click on 'Test Trigger.' This will bring in the link data. You can sort to find the link that you want to add data from.
- Once you're done, click 'continue.'
Setup Your Action
- Now, it's time to set up your action. Search for any application that supports sharing a link. For this example, we're going to search for and use 'Slack.'
- Next, you can choose an 'Action Event'. You can choose 'Send Channel Message.'
- Now, click 'Continue.'
- On the next step, you'll need to choose or connect your account.
- Then click 'Continue.'
- Next, you'll need to pick your channel.
- Then you can customize your message & insert the post link.
- Continue customizing the fields and once you're done click 'continue.'
- Your draft is ready and ready to be tested!
- You can open up the application you connected, and you'll see your message.
- Once you've confirmed it's perfect, you can click 'Turn on Zap!'
