🔗 How to Create a Link Zap
There are two core parts to creating a link zap that we'll be going over:
Send your link to Zapier via Post
Creating an Automation and publishing via Zapier
Creating a Zap
In the post section of elink, locate the post you want to send via Zapier. Click on the 'Share' icon next to it.
A popup will open and click on the 'Zapier' icon. This will send your post over to your Zapier account.
Important Note: It's important your Zapier and elink accounts are integrated. If you still need to do this, go here for directions.
Open up elink and click on the 'Automation' tab.
Click on the 'Create Automation' button.
A pop-up will appear, allowing you to name your automation and set the scheduling frequency. You can choose between daily, weekly, or monthly for each automation and set-up a corresponding time you want the process to start running at.
Next, you will need to determine whether you want to update an existing elink post on a regular basis or generate a brand new elink post on a regular basis.
After that, you need to define your sources. Choose from an RSS Feed, RSS Feed folder, or a bookmark folder. Define your keywords so that the right articles are published. Also, you can choose between 'Best results' and 'Most recent' results. Best results place a priority on keywords first, and then the time the article was published. Most Recent will place a priority on when an article was published and then the keywords. Lastly, choose how many maximum articles you want to be published regularly.
On the last step, choose what you want to happen when the post is created. On this step, you'll want to select 'Publish and send to Zapier as a link.'
Open up Zapier and click on 'Create Zap.'
You'll need to choose a trigger and search for the app 'elink'.
Next, you'll need to choose your trigger event - 'Share Post as a Link.'
Then click 'Continue'.
On the next step, you'll need to choose your elink account.
Next, you'll need to find your data. Click on 'Test Trigger.' This will bring in the link data. You can sort to find the link that you want to add data from.
Once you're done, click 'continue.'
Now, it's time to set up your action. Search for any application that supports sharing a link. For this example, we're going to search for and use 'Slack.'
Next, you can choose an '**Action Event'.** You can choose 'Send Channel Message.'
Now, click 'Continue.'
On the next step, you'll need to choose or connect your account.
Then click 'Continue.'
Next, you'll need to pick your channel.
Then you can customize your message & insert the post link.
Continue customizing the fields and once you're done click 'continue.'
Your draft is ready and ready to be tested!
You can open up the application you connected, and you'll see your message.
Once you've confirmed it's perfect, you can click 'Turn on Zap!'
